Five Reasons to join our SAP Test Automation Course
At the beginning of 2020, S/4HANA projects were running full steam ahead for many Organisations, requirements gathering had been completed and plans to commence in early to mid-2020 were in place. A few projects even went live remotely.
However, by March of 2020, many projects were being placed on hold. Virtech suspects the primary reason for this was the general nervousness of the world as we learnt how to cope with the ‘new normal’ as a result of Covid.
There were too many variables surrounding how typical business interactions were going to work, and how to deliver remotely. These themes also impacted the broader SAP landscape not just S4, and lead to a quieting of the market. But interestingly, SAP’s market share rose during 2020 in terms of Organisations signing up for new SAP offerings in the future.
From what Virtech is seeing, more of these projects are coming back online this year, even more so in 2022! The need for these transitions is still there and, as a result, we are in the midst of a high demand for SAP resources where the standard suite of S4 skills including Automated Testing is coming at a premium. This is a unique opportunity to setup your entry to the SAP Test Automation marketplace.
The Opportunity – 5 Points for Consideration
1 – The Faster, Faster Paradigm
Our customers are asking us how to meet an ever increasing demand for a better service through software delivery. Old, inefficient ways of delivering software are gone and everyone is talking about the ‘faster, faster’ paradigm or DevOps as we know it in the IT World. Two terms you hear frequently in Information Technology are ‘Agile’ and ‘DevOps’, both of which are part of this paradigm.
Our Test Automation partner, Tricentis’, is the market leader in rapid, quality assured, de-risked delivery, not only technically, but from a methodology perspective. They have been accorded market leader status for the past 5 years in the highly esteemed, market leading and independent assessment firms Gartner and Forrester.
Executives utilise Tricentis Software when researching critical dollar spending on Information Technology as it combines Artificial Intelligence with Machine Learning in no-code / low code software packaging to specifically align with:
• requirements for Agile and DevOps philosophies, and
• use by persons with limited IT experience
The benefit of this approach is increased savings in the development and execution of software releases.
2 - Moving to the Cloud, Niche Skills Focus and Virtech Networks
Everyone is moving to the cloud, which means the S/4HANA suite is becoming more prevalent, and this is going to accelerate large Enterprise transitions over the coming 1-5 years. Consider this: existing SAP customers have been told they must transition to the cloud by 2027. Virtech recognised a gap in the marketplace and specifically targeted the coming shortfall of resourcing/skillsets whilst developing our unique training experience in our S/4HANA environment.
At Virtech, we have expanded our Business Development Team to address Federal and State Government SAP requirements through the enhancement of our existing skills in Test Automation, SAP, and End User Compute experience. We have dedicated relationships with key Corporate and niche Service Providers that will allow Virtech to provide you with inside knowledge of the SAP Test Automation sector. Also, we have included a dedicated module in our Training Course around how to secure a job in Federal and State government SAP teams.
3 - Offshore Services
Australia responded well to strict lockdowns, with almost all SAP companies being able to setup remotely on-shore and continue operations for those clients willing to proceed from the comfort of our living rooms and home offices.
What was not predicted, was the impact lockdown would have on other countries like India where many of the big Corporate’s offshore their support. These countries were not able to effectively move their operations from the office, to work from home (i.e., limited / unstable internet) which led to an inability to provide the same level of support to their customers.
The feedback Virtech has received from clients, is that for the first time in 20+ years, they are reviewing their reliance on offshore support and how they can structure their local teams, or at a minimum, create a better Hybrid support option. Our courseware directly addresses the changing face of support and the emergence of Hybrid support options.
4 – Skilled Migrant Shortage, The Opportunity
Skilled migration has been non-existent since 2020 and in 2021, leaving a demand for the foreseeable future unmatched by the resources available onshore. The reliance on avenues such as e457 visas to employ skilled resources to fill project and operational work by big consulting firms has been stopped in its tracks.
This has led to a dependency on Australian resources to complete the implementations, and there is a limited supply.
5 – Australian Government Stimulus Spending
As we all know, the government provided stimulus for combatting the financial impacts of COVID, such as job keeper and tax concessions. As Australia settles into the 'new-normal', the government has provided further incentives to encourage spending amongst large corporates.
Virtech is witnessing a continued trend of large commitment towards SAP initiatives that were gaining impetus prior to Covid along with additional spending from both State and Federal governments SAP initiatives such as:
• Federal Government GovERP
• NSW State Government transitioning to a ‘Whole of Government’ SAP initiative; and
• QLD State Government due to follow suite at the end of 2022.
Just these programmes alone will stretch the marketplace way beyond any current capacity, and this is only in the Government sector which provides a great opportunity for Australian based SAP resources to take advantage of. All Federal Government bodies have different levels of strict security clearance requirements which Virtech can assist to provide you. SAP resources with these clearances are highly desirable and easily employed.
All of which further reinforces the idea that SAP spending will stay domestic for the foreseeable future.
